In order to achieve greater artistic excellence and provide unique artistic opportunities for interested musicians, the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus of North America is looking for qualified and dedicated individuals to join the ensemble. The UBC is also looking for singers and bandurists who have the requisite skill, commitment, and sense of purpose to write new chapters to the storied century-old history of this unique brotherhood.
The UBC concert ensemble comprising male vocalists and male bandura players.
The prospective candidate must have general musical knowledge, with some basic sight-reading ability preferred.
The prospective candidate must have the ability to read the Cyrillic Ukrainian alphabet;
The prospective candidate must have the ability to commit to the rehearsal schedule and UBC performance policies (to be discussed at the audition interview);
The prospective candidate must be committed to high-quality musical artistry.
The prospective candidate must prepare the following for the audition:
For VOCALISTS: Prepare two vocal songs, with at least one of the songs required to be in the Ukrainian language
For BANDURISTS: Prepare two songs for the bandura in contrasting styles. One of the songs may also include a vocal component.
